Valentina Rosset é cineasta e artista brasileira nascida em São Paulo.
É graduada pela California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) em artes de Filme/Video, onde desenvolveu sua prática no cinema em filme analógico, direção, montagem e atuação. Seu trabalho procura explorar como intimidades, gestos e apresentações artísticas criam suas próprias performances e ficções. Seu curta-metragem Um Tropeço em Cinco Movimentos estreou no Festival Internacional de Cinema em Roterdã em 2024, seguido de importantes exibições como no Festival Internacional de Cartagena de Índias (FICCI), Instituto Goethe Boston, Cinemateca do MAM-Rio, 2220+ Arts & Archives Los Angeles, e entre outros. Em seu trabalho autoral, transita pelas áreas de direção, escrita, fotografia e montagem. Também trabalhou em diversas produções de curta-metragem como fotógrafa e assistente de câmera, e mais recentemente, como atriz no longa-metragem em pós-produção Fractais Tropicais. Entre 2021 e 2023, foi assistente educadora de diversos professores na CalArts, e em 2024 foi instrutora na California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) do curso de Direção e Roteiro para adolescentes. Trabalhou no Hammer Museum (UCLA) como técnica audiovisual; no arquivo de imagem e filmoteca da CalArts como assistente de preservação e circulação. Recentemente, organizou a mostra gratuita de filmes experimentais “Gardens of Memory: Presence in Absence”, sediado no jardim do artista David Horvitz, em Los Angeles. Depois de cinco anos morando na Califórnia, ela retornou a São Paulo em 2025, onde finaliza seu novo curta-metragem Fim de Rodovia.

Brazilian filmmaker and artist born in São Paulo.
She is graduated from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Film/Video, where she developed a practice in analog film, directing, editing and acting. Her work seeks to explore how intimacies, gestures and artistic presentations create fictions and performances of their own. Her short A Slippage in Five Movements premiered in Rotterdam International Film Festival in 2024, followed by relevant screenings such as in Festival Internacional de Cartagena de Índias (FICCI), Instituto Goethe Boston, Cinemateca do MAM-Rio, 2220+ Arts & Archives Los Angeles, and among others. She has also worked in multiple shorts as a cinematographer and camera assistant, and most recently, as an actress in the feature film Fractais Tropicais. Between 2021 and 2023, she was an educator assistant for multiple faculty at CalArts, and in 2024 she taught Directing and Screenwriting for California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA). She worked at the Hammer Museum as an audiovisual technician; and at CalArts’ Film Library and Image Archives as a preservation and circulation assistant. Recently, she organized the screening of experimental shorts “Gardens of Memory: Presence in Absence”, hosted at artist David Horvitz’s Garden, in Los Angeles. After living in California for five years, she returned to São Paulo in 2025, where she finishes her new short-film End of Road.
